An accident in Navuniyasi in Naitasiri early this morning has landed 13 students in hospital.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu said the driver of the carrier had allegedly lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road, resulting in the accident.
According to an eyewitness, the students were from Naitasiri Secondary School.
A carcass of a dead cow is also visible at the scene of the accident.
Police officers are still at the scene as investigations continue.
