Fijian football captain Roy Krishna has extended his contract with ATK Mohun Bagan for another year.
The Fijian wonder boy confirmed this via a press statement today.
Krishna said he was excited to head back to India after a successful first season.
“I am delighted to extend the contract with my club. After a successful season winning the 2019/2020 Hero ISL Cup, I had no hesitation is choosing to remain with the champion team,” he said.
“I had a wonderful first year both on and off the field in Kolkata. Everyone who is part of the Club – from my fellow players, management and the fans – welcomed my family and I feel with open arms. We love being part of the culture that exists within the Club. The love and support from the fans has been especially amazing.”
Krishna added: “Last season was my first experience of India and I have really enjoyed my time here, despite its distance from everything I was familiar it. Kolkata is an amazing city with lovely people and it’s now a second home for me.”
Krishna is hopeful that borders restrictions ease and travel can resume safely in time for the pre- season training.
November is the tentative start date for the new season of the ISL at this time, with Krishna expected to join the club for pre-season training a month prior.
