Suva Cricket Association, under the leadership of President Sumanta Rout is committed to promoting the sport and developing talent in the country.

With a focus on encouraging youth participation, the association is planning off-season training programs and tournaments to identify emerging talents and provide them with proper coaching and exposure.

“We are already planning our next steps. Our focus will be on off-season training programs with some more tournaments.

“We aim to identify emerging talents and provide them with proper coaching and exposure,” said Rout.

He added collaboration with Cricket Fiji is also a priority, as they work towards supporting national-level development and future competitions.

“Beyond the game itself, cricket teaches important life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

Rout emphasised the importance of using cricket as a platform for personal growth, not just as a sport.

“Suva Cricket Association is always here to support new talent.

“We encourage everyone, especially young girls and boys, to come forward and be part of the cricketing journey.”

Rout extended his appreciation to sponsors, ground staff, match officials, media, and fans for their continued support, acknowledging that their collective efforts are propelling cricket in Suva and Fiji to greater heights.
