Film Fiji has appointed Jone Robertson as its new CEO. Mr Robertson joined the film commission as a location and production officer in 2018 after a short stint working on overseas film productions in Fiji.

He was promoted to Productions and Logistics Executive in 2021.

In his new role, Mr Robertson is expected to drive Film Fiji through a period of key transition, supported by its strategic plan through to the end of 2026.

“It is with great honour and excitement that I assume the role of CEO at Film Fiji. I am committed to building on our past successes and working collaboratively with our stakeholders to further elevate Fiji as a premier filming destination,” Mr Robertson said.

“Together, we will continue to harness the beauty of our cultural heritage and landscapes to attract filmmakers from around the world.”

Film Fiji chairperson Culden Kamea said: “JR is a popular and excellent captain to steer Film Fiji through transition to new horizons. Our board is excited for him and the great crew that we have at Film Fiji.”

Mr Robertson has worked with international productions such as Netflix, Amazon, STX, CBS, Blumhouse Productions, and Hallmark.
