FIJI Table Tennis has made history by qualifying on merit in the women’s singles event at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Table Tennis was established in Fiji in the 1960s on a social basis. It is a minor sport that has developed with its limited financial and manpower resources.
Sally Yee who has just turned 15 has attended various competitions and training camps over the past five years.
She is ranked number two in Fiji and was a member of the 2015 Oceania Cadet team to the 2015 World Cadet Challenge in Egypt. She has trained in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Caledonia in the past few years.
She will be accompanied by coach/manager, Anthony Ho.
Competition details:
August 7-12 midday — 1.30pm women’s singles preliminary round.
