Rewa added to Navua’s woes beating the side 2-0 during their Digicel Premier League match at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Navua coach Amit Prakash didn’t mince his words saying the team needed to take a hard look at themselves if they wanted to stay in the league.
“We lost concentration and the players have to step up if they want to stay in the premier league,” Prakash said. “We started well then we lost focus.
Concentration will be something that needs to be addressed before the next round.”
A scoreless first-half was not without its dues as both sides looked to break the deadlock.
Navua in its away grey jersey, exploited Rewa’s right flank on numerous occasions but lacked that extra composure to fi nish, all to the self control of the red wall.
Navua midfi eld of Arami Manumanubhai and Thomas Dunn shone at times for their side.
The Rewa offensive also tested Navua goalkeeper Josaia Ratu’s capabilities which stood tall to the half-time whistle.
Rewa’s Epeli Valevou escalated their charge into the second spell.
The midfielder looked threatening early as they hunted to lock Navua out.
The break came in the 66th minute when Rewa’s Gabriel Matanisiga was in the box.
Midfielder Patrick Joseph capitalised from the spot making no mistake.
Rewa sealed the win on 90 minutes when a quickly taken corner found Samuela Nabenia for a neat finish right in front of the goal mouth.
