Resort’s busy month

OCTOBER was a busy month for one of the country’s most popular holiday getaways, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, and general manager Peter Hopgood says November looks to be a scorcher.

“We launched our new loyalty program ‘Discovery’ on the 3rd October and we can’t wait to distribute this program to our many loyal guests,” he said.

“We are also going through the planning stages of some major refurbishments to the resort in early 2017.

“This will include restaurants, conference facilities and rooms.

“In the last month we have completed the construction of a new playground at the Kids Club and we have also installed new elevators. New pool chairs arrived two weeks ago and they look fantastic.”

And it appears that activity at the Korotogo resort has also sparked interest in neighbouring properties.

“Our nearby neighbour, Kula Eco Park, will also be going through some major changes.

“They are planning to spend over $3million on building a water park, zip line adventure activities as well as a marine aquarium.

“It will be amazing to have this facility right on our doorstep. The new facility is expected to be complete by early 2017.

“Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort & Spa is also one of the most active properties in terms of engagement with its local community and this month there are a host of programs planned to aid nearby villages and the Sigatoka District Hospital.

“On the community front the teams are extremely busy. We have the eye doctors arriving in two weeks.

“We will also open our new kindergarten at the Conua School on Saturday, 26th November.

“At the same time we will open a new library at the school which is being funded by a regular returnee guest from the USA, Jennifer G.”

“To top the weekend off we will open the new workshop at the Sigatoka Special School on Friday 25th November and then we will conduct the Sigatoka District Hospital Charity Golf Day on Sunday, 27th November.”
