Staff of Nadi’s Radisson Blu Resort took to the shores of Wailoaloa to clean up the popular picnic spot as part of a month-long community engagement program.

The activity was organised under the resort’s responsible business initiative based on three core values — think people, think community and think planet.

“Thirty-eight dedicated staff members from the resort, led by human resources director Sharon Work rolled up their sleeves at 7am for a beach clean-up at New Town Beach, Wailoaloa,” said the resort’s sales and marketing director, Petero Manufolau.

“One tonne of rubbish was collected and responsibly disposed of, helping restore the coastal environment and protecting marine life.”

Meanwhile, the resort also conducted a health check and blood donation drive.

Resort general manager Charles Homsy said the initiative was geared towards supporting their wider community.

“This initiative reflects the core of who we are — a team that cares deeply, acts responsibly and supports one another as well as our wider community,” said Mr Homsy.

“We are thankful to the Ministry of Health for their invaluable support, and to our incredible Blu team members who showed up with heart and purpose.”
