RADISSON Blu Resort Fiji has officially reopened its Chantara and Teppanyaki restaurants last Friday following a three-month renovation project designed to enhance guest experiences and expand the property’s culinary capacity.
General manager Charles Homsy described the undertaking as a strategic defensive investment to maintain the resort’s competitive edge.
“It was due to happen because these are old restaurants we had, and then these restaurants are very well liked and loved by the guests, so we had to do what we call a defensive investment,” he said.
“We have to upgrade them, otherwise we lose them.”
The upgraded spaces now accommodate up to 200 guests across multiple functional areas, supporting large families, birthdays, and corporate events.
Mr Homsy said the project was the internal construction of the Teppanyaki area, completed entirely by the resort’s in-house engineering team.
“The beauty of it is one of the Teppanyaki area, this is my pride, is that it was all built by our own engineers internally, so you can see that we still have very good skilled people in Fiji.”
The expansion has also boosted local employment, with staffing levels for the bar areas, Orchid Lounge, and dining spaces fluctuating around 40 personnel.
