THE Industry Discussion Forum Report 2018 reflects the importance of training needs of Fiji’s workforce but also areas where the National Training and Productivity Centre training programs will have to be improved or enhanced, says Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association CEO Fantasha Lockington.

Ms Lockington said the NTPC’s industry discussion forum provided a platform where stakeholders and industry partners offered valuable feedback identifying their training needs and also areas of skills assessments.

It took the team from NTPC two months to compile the report and their visits were made to 230 businesses around the country.

Most of the businesses that were surveyed showed an added interest in more training for their staff members while others raised their concerns at the high cost of training for their staff members.

The report was launched at the Fiji National University’s NTPC, Narere, campus yesterday.
