Heavyweight boxers Semi Dauloloma and James Singh will contest the national title once more in a rematch on Saturday, July 19 at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
This is after the promoter of Kings Boxing Promotion, Nahroon Buksh, confirmed the fixture yesterday.
For both boxers, it will mean the chance to face each other once more in what might turn out to be an intense duel of varying strength and intensity.
They met last August at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka where both fighters were disqualified due to a brawl that broke out in the ring among both of them.
Now, with both boxers seeking to finish what was halted in that previous meeting, they stand head-to-head with varied results.
For Dauloloma, his message to Singh remained simple in delivery.
“The only thing I would like to tell him is for him to give everything he has if he doesn’t want that belt to be taken from him,” Dauloloma emphasised.
“If not, it will have to be one of the two; coconut and bread, whoever wins takes it all.”
As for Singh, he says his preparation for the rematch will consist of solidifying his spiritual life.
“One of the things I need to work on is I need to pray a lot this time, back to the roots. I got caught up in the bright lights,” Singh highlighted.
He attributed not working out and admitted the lack of interest he showed in his training and how he would change that approach for the July bout.
“I forgot all about the hard work I was doing and then I got caught up in the bright lights and I was lazy, being lazy. To be honest, I’ve been so lazy in all my training camps,” he added.
Besides their last bout being a no contest, each boxer has won a fight each. Singh won over Dauloloma in June, 2024 while Dauloloma won the first in July, 2023.
