THE tender to build 37 houses at the new site for Nabavatu Village in Dreketi has been advertised.
Minister for Rural Development Sakiasi Ditoka said they were following procedures to ensure the project was not delayed.
“We’re trying to go through this,” Mr Ditoka said.
“We are trying to make sure we follow every step so that we are not delayed further down the line.”
Mr Ditoka said the project would be continued by Habitat Fiji after the 37 houses had been built.
“We expect to complete the project next year, the civil works have been completed.”
The villagers have been living in tents for more than three years since their houses were destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Ana in 2021.
