Minister for Health Atonio Lalabalavu and New Zealand High Commissioner Charlotte Darlow have commissioned the refurbished Nausori Health Centre, which was done at a cost of approximately $700,000.
Dr Lalabalavu said the refurbishment works included the establishment of six new doctors’ consultation rooms, a new and much larger waiting area, a new pharmacy, laboratory unit, treatment room, foot care room and an improved public sanitary facility.
The renovated health centre is expected to inspire employees to offer top-notch care to the more than 70,000 residents of the Nausori medical area.
“The newly refurbished Nausori Health Centre that we are commissioning today (yesterday) is one of the health facilities that the New Zealand MFAT had earmarked for infrastructure improvement under their current health infrastructure support program,” Dr Lalabalavu said.
“This is the fifth project funded by MFAT New Zealand in the Central Division under its infrastructure development project.”
