This poem is inspired by my garden project. I decided to create a minature garden, based upon the childhood charm of a Faiiryland home.
I adorned the garden with solar lights to twinkle under the midnight sky and provide light by the garden path to the creatures who happily make my garden their enchanted home.
Alas, my hope of seeing a fairy has not transpired as yet but I have witnessed creatures small and sacred in my garden, which has been an enchanting encounter.
I have seen earthworms keep warm in the soil.
I have seen butterflies dance around the buds and blooms.
I have seen dragonflies float by on wings crafted as fine as lace
I have witnessed my sunflowers turn their gaze towards the sun
I have witnessed my wand plants (pink orchids) grow tall and sway in the winds. My vision is that one day, they will all be as tall as the solar light poles and because I have decorated my garden with this most graceful plant, I hope to see blooms when the Season arrives. The tall stems that sway gentle in the breeze is indeed, my vision of an enchanted garden.
I have seen frog families seek refuge amongst my garden decor.
I have witnessed bees extract pollen from blooms
My farm-acy is bountiful with herbs and vegetable yields for a dry Season
I have propagated blooms planted by my father two decades earlier and the first bloom opened bright and beautiful on his birthday. It was one of the most magical moments I have ever witnessed and to this day, remains an enchanting memory.
Indeed, to bear witness to the serene work of Nature in my garden is an enchanting experience.
Any person that seeks to align their labour of love with Nature, will undertake every effort to ensure that the earth is aware of their dedication to Her care and as a reward, one’s yield will be bountiful.
Most of the creatures small and sacred in my garden have provisions for shelter and safety but alas, I noted that the birds did not consider my garden a home as yet.
I installed a minature pond with a wooden walk-way and each morning, I would watch in wonder as they arrived at dawn for a bird-bath or to quench their thirst.
Alas, my pets were not too impressed by their presence and considered the pond as their water tub so I had to remove the pond in haste and spare the birds any harm.
My new initiative will be from experience. I intend to install a bird stand with a minature pond atop it, so the birds can bathe in peace!
Still no fairies in sight but what an enchanting
sight under the sunlight has Nature presented to me.
The knowledge I have acquired is invaluable.
1. Whispering positive words to plants to see them bloom
2. Utilising natural fertilisers to guide the growth of plants
3. Decorating my garden with antique decor items no longer in usage
4. Placing compost buckets around the garden and utilising food peels from the kitchen so that all plants receive energy to grow in their time. To witness the power of energy in Nature is a true experience in science.
