Redevelopment of Ratu Cakobau House begins

The Tailevu Holdings Company Pte Limited and Yanjian Group (Fiji) Company Pte Limited recently signed a contract for the commencement of the upgrading and redevelopment of the Ratu Cakobau House in Nausori.

Tailevu Holdings Company Pte Limited General Manager, Talei Rokotuibau said the redevelopment of the landmark in Nausori town will cost a total of $3.8million, vat inclusive with an estimated construction timeline of 13 months.

“The project is in line with the company’s strategy to refurbish/refresh its property portfolio, made possible through the support of our financiers BSP Bank,” Ms Rokotuibau said.

“The works involve upgrading of the commercial office section with an extension for retail space on the ground floor,” she said.

Ms Rokotuibau said the refurbishment includes the mordenisation of the building to include lift access.

“The project provides a platform of opportunities to encourage participation in business by the itaukei Tailevu Holdings will continue to also explore new opportunities to expand its property and investment portfolio for the benefit of its shareholders with exciting opportunities emerging in the province within the next three years which it will take advantage of.”

Last week representatives from the provinces and Yanjian Group (Fiji) Company Pte Limited participated in the concrete pouring to begin the upgrading works.
