AYESHA Kirti Reddy, 22, stamped her mark yesterday by being the only University of Fiji student to not only attain an A in all her 32 units, but to also scoop five gold medals.
Ms Reddy graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in mathematics and physics and a Graduate Diploma in teaching. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Science degree.
She was among 282 others who graduated yesterday.
She received gold medals for being an outstanding student in physics, mathematics, outstanding student in her graduate diploma in teaching, the Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence award and the School of Humanities and Arts gold medal award.
“I have always wanted it from the very first day,” she said or her prizes.
“It required a lot of commitment, it required a lot of time management, a lot of dedication towards reading lecture notes and attending all the lectures.”
Ms Reddy said observing others drop out of the program failed to deter her from pursuing her studies diligently.
She said one of the things she believes in is time management.
Her future plans? She’s applied to the Education Ministry for employment.
“I’m trying to get a teaching job, high school teaching in mathematics and physics.
“I’m also open to any public or private sector job if it offers a good package.”
