LAUTOKA Central College’s Red House athletes took home the silverware in both the boys and girls divisions at their inter–house competition at Churchill Park on Friday.

The students competed over two days with Red House coming out on top. Meet manager Mohammed Shazil said the performance by each student was encouraging.

“We had a few records broken during the two days and we are very pleased with their performance.

“I think it was a really great show put on by each athlete in the track and field events and we are very much looking forward to the zone meet.”

He said despite the challenges caused by the bad weather earlier this year, the students were able to compete over the two days.

“We had to put a hold to our training for a couple of days because of the bad weather but despite that all of our students managed to train and prepare for this competition.

“Now we look forward to the zone and hopefully field about 50 of our top athletes.”

In the boys division, first place went to Red House, second Yellow House and third was Green House.

In the girls division, first place went to Red House, second Green House and third Yellow House.
