“The recommendations are serious”, said Commissioner, Justice David Ashton-Lewis on the 400-page Commission of Inquiry (Col) report that inquired into the appointment of Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) Commissioner.

The report was handed to the President and Prime Minister today.

“Until the Prime Minister has read it, and the President has read it, Mrs (Janet) Mason will be briefing the President, not next week, but the week,” said Mr Ashton-Lewis

“It’s a 400-page document.”

“It’s quite complicated legally, and so they will read it and have questions. What do you mean here? What should we do here?”

“The recommendations are serious, the findings are serious, and that’s why it needs to be dealt with properly.”
