VODAFONE Fijiana XV forwards coach Ifereimi Rawaqa believes the team is tracking well ahead of their test match against the Wallaroos this Saturday.
Speaking after their training session at Albert Park yesterday, Rawaqa said the focus was on execution as the team continued preparations.
“I think they are tracking well today. It’s all about executions. We just want to see our lineouts and our strike move off lineouts, which we did that, and we’re happy with our session this morning,” he said.
“In terms of our prep from last week till today, everyone is here, everyone is on the same page, and we’ll look forward to Saturday.”
The Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua women’s head coach said some key decisions would be made before the team is named.
“We’ll probably name our lineup, go back with our trainings and the girls been training well. They joined us at the back end of a Super Rugby season, which is good. It’s good for us, good for the girls.”
He also spoke about the benefits of the Super Rugby pathway for young local talents.
“The good thing about Super Rugby is that it’s our pathway from our local competitions, prep them for this international. So, they’ve been training well, and hopefully they get a run on Saturday.”
Looking ahead to the test, Rawaqa said the focus would remain on their own game.
“The Wallaroos are one of the best teams in the world. We respect them.” The match kicks off at 5.30pm at the HFC Bank Stadium.
