Mikaele Ravalaca will get a shot at a Boxing Commission of Fiji national title soon.

This is according to BCF chairman Adi Narayan.

According to the BCF chairman, Ubayd Haidar will be told to vacate his 59kg title if he is not willing to defend it.

“A boxer is given six months to defend the title he has won.

“Haider will be given the same time and if he fails to defend it, the title will become vacant and Mika will get to fight for it in one of the near future promotions,” Narayan said.

He has also called on promoters to negotiate with both boxers to make the fight happen as Ravalaca is the main contender in the category.

Haider says the title do not mean much to him as winning does.

“I really did not win the titles for the belt. Many people were saying that I do not have a title, so I had to win it to be called a champion.

” Now I have two Fiji titles, and I am going for the regional bouts now,” Haider said.

Majority boxing fans in the country have been calling on promoters for the Mika-Haider fight in recent months.

Promoters have been working behind the scenes to try and get both boxers on an agreement.

BCG chair Narayan says while they would also want this fight to happen, it will come down to the promoters and boxers to agree on terms and sign the contracts.
