Update: 4:43PM A TOTAL of 48 new records were set during the two-day Coca-Cola Nadi Athletics Zone as Ratu Navula and Nadi Sangam were crowned winners of the boys and girls title, respectively, at Lautoka’s Churchill Park.
Nineteen records were broken yesterday with 29 new records again set today.
Ratu Navula scooped a total of 19 gold medals to win the boy’s event ahead of Swami Vivekananda with 13 gold medal, while Nadi Sangam secured the third spot with five gold medals.
Nadi Sangam proved its supremacy in the girl’s division winning 12 gold medals, edging Swami Vivekananda with 10 gold medals, while Ratu Navula finished third with six gold.
Ratu Navula sprinters Merewalesi Marama and Emosi Taginamakadre won the best male and female awards, respectively, after winning three gold medals each for their school.
