TRADITIONAL protocols are fading away, warns Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.

Speaking at the vakasenuqanuqa held in Somosomo Village, Taveuni, Ratu Naiqama said some key aspects of traditional ceremonies, such as song lyrics and the presence of proper warriors, are being overlooked.

He urged those present to ensure that cultural protocols are followed correctly.

“Some words for the song for the traditional kava ceremonies are missing. We must use the right traditional warriors at important events such as this,” he said.

He said there were ways of preserving culture and traditional protocols at all times.
