RATABACACA House is the John Wesley College inter-house competition 2020 winner.
The new champion scooped 19 gold, 13 silver and six bronze medals at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Tuilovoni House finished second with 15 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals while Sotutu House and Bole House settled for third and fourth places respectively.
JWC assistant principal Apenisa Seninawanawa said their focus was to get more athletes into field events.
“We have a lot of potential on the tracks, but we are trying to get more athletes to take part in field events,” he said.
“We had the opportunity to have a good trial and from this, we will select our school squad.
“We have seen some potential which will represent is in the Suva Zone one in week seven.
“We will form a formidable team for the zone and for the Coca-Cola Games. We won one gold medal last year and our aim this year is to win more.”
Also present at the inter-house competition yesterday were former students who also took part in a special event.
Fiji under-21 flanker Anasa Qaranivalu, who is part of the Fiji 7s extended squad took part in the senior boys relay team.
School chaplain, the Rev Moce Biudole, said this showed the upbringing the school had done to its students
