Ranked 1 of 10 best family cars

TOGETHER with Edmunds.com, Parents Magazine named the Hyundai Tucson as 10 Best Family Car. Parents Magazine is one of the most trusted publications for parents and Edmunds.com is one of the most trusted sources for car shoppers. The two esteemed outlets joined forces and awarded the Tucson for its safety and kid-friendly features, roominess and more.

“Hyundai’s Tucson has a spacious interior,” said Parents editor-in-chief, Dana Points.

“Its clever two-stage reclining seats and plenty of legroom allow kids to kick back and relax. Parents whose hands are always full will appreciate the handy tailgate that swings up automatically when you approach with the key in your pocket.”

For the ninth year in a row, Parents Magazine teamed up with Edmunds.com, the destination for car shopping, to select the top vehicles for families.

The ratings were based on factors including quality of ride, safety, comfort and capacity, fuel efficiency, kid-friendly features, price and value, reliability, interior and exterior workmanship, visibility, controls and instrumentation; and attributes, such as appearance, ergonomics and special design features.

“We understand parents look for vehicles that provide the top safety for their families and we took that seriously with the redesigned Tucson,” said Hyundai Motor America corporate and product planning vice president Mike O’Brien.

“This recognition from Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com shows we are committed to providing better vehicles for our owners – through better safety, quality and design features that set us apart.”

The all-new Hyundai Tucson comes equipped with advanced safety features, including blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, daytime running lights, panaromic glass roof, side curtain airbags, backup warning sensors and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).

The Tucson also earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS’s) 2016 Top Safety Pick + designation.

Hyundai Tucson only small SUV to receive good ratings for small-overlap crash tests.

The Hyundai Tucson SUV is the only vehicle in the small SUV category to receive good ratings for both driver and passenger in the latest Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) small-overlap crash test ratings. “At Hyundai, we continually strive to provide outstanding passenger safety to our customers, regardless of vehicle size or price,” said Hyundai Motor America Corporate and Product Planning vice president Mike O’Brien.

“Our 2016 Tucson’s good rating for both driver and passenger in the demanding IIHS small overlap crash test reflects our commitment to passenger safety at every level. We’re certainly proud of our Tucson’s industry-leading performance in the small SUV category.

“Hyundai should be commended for ensuring that both drivers and their front-seat passengers get equal protection in small overlap crashes in the 2016 Tucson,” said IIHS executive vice president David Zuby.
