Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has not confirmed if he will be running for the 2026 General Election.
He said that would depend on his re-election as leader of The People’s Alliance party.
“My term as party leader is coming up for review,” said Mr Rabuka.
“It can change in accordance with the Constitution.
“After it is changed, I can remain as PM, or I can ask for a new party leader.
“A trial leader and prepare him and he prepares the party for the next election.”
Mr Rabuka said the review of his position would be done next year.
Asked whether he knew if he would be standing in the next elections, he said, “no, that depends on the party”.
