Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will lead a Fijian delegation on a high-level visit to Australia this week as part of the ongoing commitment to strengthening the renewed and elevated Vuvale Partnership between Fiji and Australia.

At the invitation of the Australian Government, Mr Rabuka will undertake high-level engagements, including a courtesy call on Australia’s Governor General Sam Mostyn.

In a statement, Mr Rabuka said he would also visit key Australian institutions and sites that highlight the deep historical and strategic ties shared by the two nations.

“Our discussions will focus on enhancing border and ports capabilities, deepening security cooperation, and reinforcing regional solidarity to support a safe, stable and resilient Blue Pacific,” he said.

“I look forward to meeting with members of our vibrant Fijian diaspora in Canberra and Brisbane.”

Mr Rabuka said the Coalition Government remained dedicated to maintaining strong connections with Fijians abroad and acknowledging their valuable contributions to Fiji and Australia.

He is accompanied by senior Cabinet ministers and military leaders.

Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka will act as Prime Minister while Mr Rabuka is away.
