Suva striker Pita Rabo was the toast of the side, as they became the first side to qualify for the Fiji FACT semi-finals via a 1-0 win over Nadroga at Prince Charles Park yesterday.
Suva after having accounted for Nadi 3-1 on Saturday night once again stamped their mark on a muddy pitch as the Fiji Bitter sponsored event entered into the third day.
Rabo pounced on a cross from midfielder Laisiasa Vosailagi and his shot beat Nadroga goalkeeper Craig Potts.
Suva president Jahir Khan said they are ready to face any team in the semi-final.
“We are ready to face any team and I say again if the players play this way we will have no problems,” Khan said.
“But one thing is for sure and that is with this weather any team can win the tournament.
“I am impressed with my players and captain Inosi Cawa and goal keeper Afroz Nabi
The capital side started the game on a slow place and the Stallions playing their last game of the tournament tried their best to get an opening.
But the Suva defence led by captain Inosi Cawa and new find, youngster Apisalome Turuva withheld the Nadroga attack.
The Westerners missed the service of their Australian-based striker Antonio Faria who was injured and they found the ground conditions tough to play football at times but they still gave their best and made several attempts at goal.
Nabi was called to rescue most of the times and was able to thwart the Stallions attack.
