I AM glad the grog price remains the same in regards to our budget.

Prayer for PM
PLEASE let’s remind ourselves to say a little prayer for our honourable Prime Minister. His tireless effort to reach out to the vulnerable, to all walks of life regardless of race, age and gender is something I value with a lot of respect. He deserves all the accolades that any great man deserves and also a simple little prayer will do the job.

Police job
I BELIEVE it has been nine long years since the past to present leadership have disregarded our local career police officers with the capacity to take up the commissioner’s seat.

Sevens rugby
FOR Fiji to have any positive impact in 7s rugby game in Rio, Ben Ryan must secure the likes of juggling wizard William Ryder. Top teams have already attracted their wizards.

Moving forward
CRITICISM is one hurdle which makes us cautious and makes our work easier since we are prepared. I am urging all to accept the critics and move forward.

Roadworks
WITH roadworks getting the most provision in the recent budget, the road fatality seems to be counting at 55 compared with 41 for the same period last year. As road conditions improve, are we expecting more fatalities in the future?

Fireworks
IF fireworks or crackers are classified as dangerous goods, how close to the airport compounds can they be used? Some of the fireworks displayed in recent days are super powerful, noisy and reach quite high distances off ground level. If individuals light them close to the perimeter of airport compounds, this would pose potentially high risks to aeroplanes taking off and landing on runaways. Is there some legislation or regulation that is inclusive of the use of fireworks and proximity to airports?

Mangroves
ON one hand, we are encouraging mangrove planting to increase its significance in our ecosystem. Ironically, on the flip side, huge swats of mangroves are being removed in some parts of the country to pave the way for development. Where do we stand?
