Attorney-General Siromi Turaga says former police commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho’s court sentence is expected to be on the agenda of the next Constitutional Offices Commission (COC).

This follows Qiliho’s sentencing yesterday along with former prime minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Mr Turaga said the COC committee would have to wait for its chairperson Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka to return from his diplomatic visit to the United Kingdom.

Mr Turaga said he was unable to give a date on when the COC would next sit to discuss Qiliho’s case.

“We can’t give you a date because Mr Rabuka is out of the country,” he said.

“Yes, the court’s sentence will be placed before the COC.

“There can be a meeting put together particularly for that.

“But we will have to wait for his conviction to be circulated before any decision is made.

“Most certainly this will be on the agenda in our next COC meeting.”
