Update: 5:08PM THE Public Enterprise Ministry will be allocated $16.1million next year to oversee the efficient management of 25 state-owned enterprises.
This was revealed by Finance Minister
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while delivering the 2016 National Budget in Parliament
today.
“Government has wholly or partially divested some assets in
order to work with the private sector to improve performance and increase
efficiency,” he said.
“Government should do that because government does not do
everything best which can be done by the private sector and State-owned
enterprises must always be commercially viable.”
