Seventy-one youths from Tailevu will benefit from the Tailevu Provincial Council Scholarship program in the 2024 academic year.
The award ceremony was organised at the Nausori Village Hall in Tailevu on Saturday.
Tailevu provincial council scholarship program chairwoman Dr Akanisi Kedrayate Tabualevu said the initiative was introduced in 2019 for education empowerment in the province and, so far, 206 youths were positively impacted with over 90 graduates.
She said the recipients were those who had enrolled into training centres, higher institutions, and Theological College.
She added the program also funded studies at Theological college as a way forward for a holistic approach in the province.
