Vice-Chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia has not resigned.

In a statement released by the University of the South Pacific, Ahluwalia’s contract remains in effect until August 2026 following a two-year extension approved by the University Council at its 96th meeting in November 2023.

“As with any leadership transition, the University will adhere to its established governance process,” the statement said.

“In the meantime USP will start looking for a new Vice-Chancellor with the Council set to confirm the timeline and approach at its next meeting in May.”
