Ba Primary School athletes are back on the big stage, returning to the prestigious Chow Games this year after lapse of five years.
The Ba Primary School Athletics Competition is in full swing at the Churchill Park’s rubber tracks in Lautoka hosting the Ba athletes for the first time.
A total of 40 primary schools from across Ba are currently participating ,a celebration of talent and determination.
Tournament coordinator Ana Tuiloa expressed her excitement about the event and the impressive talents showcased by the young athletes.
“This year, we’re returning to the Chow Games after five years, and having the competition on these rubber tracks allows these students to fully display their talents,” she said.
A total of 1,500 athletes are competing in the two-day event, with around 100 of the best being selected to represent Ba at the national level in the upcoming finals next month.
Tuiloa stressed the importance of the competition, saying, “We want these students to realize their potential and talents.”
Some of the schools traveled great distances to participate. Schools like Navala Catholic and Nakoroboya, situated deep in the interior of Ba, made the journey to Lautoka, showing their commitment to make it into the Ba squad for the primary schools finals.
