The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has placed a price control order on Retail Supply of Electricity and Ancillary Services until May 25, 2030.
The order has come into force on May 25, 2025.
The gazette notice has been authorised by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Manoa Kamikamica.
“For the purpose of section 39 of the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission Act 2010, the prices for the retail supply of electricity and services pertaining to the retail supply of electricity in all quantities, qualities and grades or classes are controlled,” states the gazette.
“This Order expires at the start of 25 May 2030 unless it is varied, extended or revoked.”
