As Fijians prepare to celebrate Diwali, a local recycling company has called on national leaders to prioritise the people, their needs, and their future, putting people before politics.
Founder of Pacific Recycling Foundation Amitesh Deo hopes the festival of lights inspired a brighter and more inclusive Fiji, where all voices are heard, respected, and uplifted.
He said in Fiji and across the Pacific, there were urgent issues that require the concerted
efforts and collaboration of all sectors.
“From climate resilience and waste management to social inclusion and economic security,
our communities are at a critical juncture,” he said.
“We believe that by working hand-in-hand with grassroots organisations and embracing inclusive policies that protect the most vulnerable, Fiji can move toward a future that embodies the core values of Diwali,” said Deo.
