POLICE traffic personnel in the Western Division are being trained to make use of a new series database that will enable them to obtain information about any vehicle they encounter on the roads.
The training has been organised by the Land Transport Authority after launching its online database last week. This database houses all vehicle information and can be accessed at any time.
West divisional traffic officer ASP Mitieli Divuana said the outcome of this training would save time and resources for the traffic unit.
“Going all the way to the LTA office to clarify information on any vehicle or driver will be a thing of the past thanks to the new co-operation and data sharing between the two organisations,” he said.
“This will save us a lot of time and resources and it will enable us to execute our roles more effectively.”
He said police officers could now take immediate action against drivers or vehicles operating illegally.
