A police officer was among 10 people arrested for drunk driving during intensified Random Breath Test (RBT) operations conducted in Nadi and Suva last night.
The third night of operations along the Nadi–Namaka corridor saw officers test 351 drivers, resulting in nine arrests — including a Nadi-based police officer found allegedly driving under the influence.
Thirteen others were tested and released after their final readings fell below the legal limit.
In Suva, 450 drivers were screened, with one arrest recorded. Three others were released after returning results under the prescribed limit.
Police say they remain committed to applying the law equally to all road users, including their own officers, as part of efforts to reduce alcohol-related incidents and improve road safety.
