The Police volleyball team will use the Suva Volleyball tournament as the foundation of their preparation towards the Sukuna Bowl next month.
Captain Bernard Vukivuki said taking part in the Suva Volleyball opening knockout gave them more game time to prepare for the Sukuna Bowl.
“Competing in the Sukuna Bowl is a different atmosphere all together,” he said.
“We are grateful to Suva Volleyball Association for hosting such a tournament because if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t have any game time and more importantly there will be no competition.
“We have been preparing well, taking part in community tournaments just to boost our morale in terms of competition.
“Now that they season has begun, we will work on our weak points and take our level of training up to another level.”
He said as defending champions, the onus is on them to perform well and to the expectations.
“We know our Military brothers will always come down hard on us and will be prepared.
“There is a huge responsibility on us in defending our title and we will do it diligently.”
