Police Blue retains Escott Shield for fifth year

THE Escott Shield remains in Nasova for a fifth consecutive year after Police Blue won 33-13 over TISA Insurance Covenant Brothers in a hotly-contested finale to conclude the 2026 club season for the FMF Suva Rugby Union last night.

Police and Covenant went head to head for the coveted shield, often copping infringements due to the fierce rivalry that played out on the field to fight tooth and nail for the title.

The men from Nasova led 15-13 at half-time.

In the second half, Covenant, backed with Fiji 7: speedster Sakiusa Siqila in its ranks, attempted to gain dominance in the spell however Police maintained a firm grip on the scoreboard.

While Police celebrate their retention of the coveted shield, the CK Suva Bargain RKSOB 2 team lifted the Koroturaga trophy after a 29-10 defeat of Eastern Saints Gold.

Eastern Saints placed in a second spell attempt after trailing 0-22 at half-time however RKSOB 2 added a converted try to solidify their lead and firmly grip the Koroturaga title for this year.

With club games now wrapped up, Suva turns its focus to the 2026 Skipper Cup competition.
