Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka visited Robertson Road in Suva this morning, following a disturbing video shared on social media showing minors injecting drugs in public.
On his social media post, Mr Rabuka described the video as deeply concerning and immediate action must be taken to address the situation.
“When I arrived at the site, I met with residents who have been living with this issue in their neighbourhood for some time,” he said.
“This situation is very serious, no community should have to tolerate such dangerous and illegal activity, especially when it involves our young people.
“I have instructed the Fiji Police Force to increase regular patrols in this area and other places where serious offences are taking place — including public drinking, marijuana use, and suspected drug injections.
“This is not just a matter of law enforcement, but one of public health, safety, and the future of our youth. We must protect our children and restore safety and security in our communities.
“Together, let us build a prosperous and better Fiji.”
