Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has reiterated the importance of the political neutrality of civil servants in ensuring their personal affiliations do not interfere with their professional duties.
“There has been no specific effort to weed out anyone,” Mr Rabuka said.
“We understand the freedoms and the rights of all civil servants to have an affiliation, whether they are actual financial members of the political parties or not.
“They may support the ideologies of political parties.”
The Prime Minister emphasised their crucial role in governance and service delivery, noting their sacrifices, especially in remote areas.
He said civil servants could maintain their political leanings without it affecting their roles.
“There is nothing to limit them from continuing their service as civil servants if they had those political leanings.
“As long as it does not interfere with the execution of their duties.” || EDT- RABUKA 4 || PRIME Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has reiterated the importance of the political neutrality of civil servants in ensuring their personal affiliations do not interfere with their professional duties.
