India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was recently bestowed with Fiji’s highest honor – the Companion of the Order of Fiji (CF) by Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka on behalf of President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands cooperation (FIPIC) III Summit at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

They reviewed the close and multifaceted bilateral partnership, expressed satisfaction at the progress in key sectors and exchanged views on regional and global issues of common interest.

Mr Modi dedicated the honor to the people of India and to the generations of Fiji-Indian community, who have played a key role in the special and enduring bond between the two countries.
