PRIME Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says young people are breaking free from the limitations of poverty, gender inequality and social stigma.

He told the Pacific Polytech graduation ceremony in Nausori yesterday young people were choosing technical education as a way to build a better future for themselves and their families.

“This is the power of inclusive, skills-based education and Pacific Polytech is at the front of it,” Mr Rabuka said.

“Graduates are coming from rural and maritime communities. Many are the first in their families to pursue post-secondary education.”

The Prime Minister said women were stepping into trades once dominated by men, challenging norms, breaking barriers and opening doors for future generations.

“The Government is pleased to walk this journey alongside Pacific Polytech. We hear the stories. We see the results. And we know that every student trained here represents not just an individual success, but family stability, restored dignity and a stronger Fiji.” Mr Rabuka told the graduates they’d earned more than a certificate.

“You have earned your place as builders of a better Fiji. Let your journey inspire others. Remain committed to lifelong learning. Lead with integrity, with humility, and with purpose.”
