Billiard and Snooker Association of Fiji has joined hands with a logistics company to host the Billiard and Snooker Association Games this weekend in Lautoka.
COSMOS Logistics has gone on board as sponsors of the competition’s A Division, with a contribution of $2500.
Association president Keshwan Nadan thanked COSMOS Logistics for agreeing to support snooker and help develop the sport in the country.
“For the first time ever, we will be having the A and B Division together,” he said, Nadan said there was a big interest from snooker players for the competition.
“There was so much interest that we had to stop taking in players, as we had already set a time frame for the entries. We were expecting a lot of people to come to compete and that is exactly what happened.”
A total of 62 players who will be competing at the South Seas Club from September 8-10.
“There is a lot of interest from people wanting to join, so this tells us that the sport is still growing significantly in Fiji. We are also seeing a lot of new players,” Nadan added.
