Nakubuwai currently plays for the Gold Coast Titans, in Queensland, Australia.
The 21-year-old, who has maternal links in Kadavu, moved to Melbourne to play for Altona Roosters after completing high school.
In 2015, he joined the Melbourne Storm NYC Side, and then later represented Fiji in the game against PNG in the Melanesian Cup 2016.
His father, Pio Kubuwai, also played for Fiji and took part in the 1995 Rugby League World Cup.
