There are individuals trying to sabotage the Cogea relocation project, according to Fiji Council of Social Services executive director Vani Catanasiga.

While she did not name them, Ms Catanasiga said they were from sub-national offices up North.

“We had written a letter of complaint to their respective office, but nothing was undertaken against them,” she said.

When asked whether the donor of the project was planning to withdraw, she said misinformation such as this would affect the project.

“This is news to me,” Ms Catanasiga said.

“There was resentment regarding the project when we took it over.”

Ms Catanasiga said they would consult the villagers to update them on the relocation.

“I know these issues you are raising are not from villagers but from sub-national offices.”

She added the relocation project was well in progress.
