THE Seniors golf team of FSC Ba Golf Club created history by winning the inaugural Heera Apartments-sponsored tournament in Ba during the weekend.
The Seniors team beat ‘The Rest’ team which comprised of other golf club members.
The Seniors team, captained by Manish Patel, won the event by eight points during the 18 holes competition at the Ba Golf Club course at Rarawai on Sunday.
The Seniors team had the services of reigning Ba Open winner and veteran golfer, Rajen Singh.
“Rajen is displaying outstanding performances even at the age of 63,” Ba Golf Club vice-captain Rohit Chandra said.
“The idea to hold the tournament was sprung up after a few beers during a social gathering.
“The former captain of the Ba Golf Club, Pradeep Chandra, was the one who introduced the concept which ultimately stirred up a lot of rivalry among the senior members and other golf club members.”
The Seniors team included Jyoti Lal, Ramen Chaudhary, Raven Kumar, Joeli Dakunimata, Vishwa Nadan and Subhash Chand.
‘The Rest’ team also had a classy lineup with the likes of Asish Chand, Sailesh Kumar, Ravinesh Chand, Ravinesh Chaudhary, Ashwin Sharma, Mike Nand and Veenesh Prasad.
There was a last-minute inclusion of overseas-based Golfer James Veeran.
Rohit said the season opening event would be held next month.
