FIJI will get to hear the world-class sound of its very own Pasifika Voices as the much-anticipated Hollywood animation, Moana, premiers tomorrow in the country.
Pasifika Voices choir director Igelese Ete said this was a huge step in the right direction for the arts industry in Fiji.
“Hollywood came to us and used our own home-grown talent,” he said.
“The premier is indicative of where we want to be as far as Fiji is concerned and it is about showcasing our world-class talent through the Pasifika Voices.”
Damodar Group of Companies CEO Div Damodar said the movie premier would be held in Suva tomorrow evening.
“We are very privileged that Fiji has been selected to be part of the Moana celebration and Fiji is part of it because we also had a hand in its production,” he said.
Vodafone sponsorship manager Adriu Vakarau announced that a New Zealand cast member of the Disney animation would also be present at the premier.
“Vodafone came on board to provide support in bringing one of the actors of the movie, Temuera Morrison, here to Fiji,” he said.
