Public Works Minister and deputy leader of the People’s Alliance party (PAP) Ro Filipe Tuisawau has reaffirmed the party’s full support for Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka to lead them into the 2026 General Election.

Speaking to the media after a Cabinet meeting in the PM’s Office yesterday, Ro Filipe said there was no division within the party, and they all stood behind Sitiveni Rabuka’s leadership and recent decisions, including those related to the Commission of Inquiry (COI) report.

“We are already in full support of the PM’s announcement that he will be leading us into the next election,” Ro Filipe said.

“I am reaffirming that today and we’re in full support, myself and all of the PAP members on his decision to stand again in the 2026 elections.”

Ro Filipe dismissed claims of division within the party following the release of the COI report and amid calls for the PM to step down.

“There’s no division,” he said. “The Prime Minister is our leader and we, as the People’s Alliance, are behind him.

“If you want him to step aside, you follow the process: put forward a motion of no-confidence in Parliament or come in the way he came in — through elections.

“If they don’t have a political party, they need to form one and compete. That’s democracy.”
