Fiji Labour Party (FLP) says it is ready for the elections on December 14, 2022.
After the announcement of the election date yesterday, party leader Mahendra Chaudhry urged all registered voters to cast their vote.
“Vote for the change we all have been waiting for long,” Mr Chaudhry said.
“I am confident of a change considering the overwhelming support among the people for the main opposition parties.
“Change is imminent, should we have free, fair and credible election.
“We just have to be vigilant.”
Mr Chaudhry believed it was insensitive to schedule the poll so close to Christmas.
“I appeal to our people to make the necessary adjustments to ensure that you do cast your vote.”
The FLP has announced around 40 provisional candidates, with more names expected to be announced soon.
